Meet Erika Milner

Owner and Teacher at Milner Music Studio

Erika Milner, voice, piano, and violin instructor at Milner Music Studio, has a passion for sharing her love of music with others. Prior to private teaching, Erika taught high school choir, class piano, and orchestra in both the Fort Campbell and Clarksville school systems. In addition to teaching music lessons, Erika enjoys performing in musicals and operas, singing in choirs, and playing on her church's worship team.

About Erika: About

Education 

       Erika received her B.M. in Music Education (vocal/ general) in 2013 from Union University. While at Union, she studied voice with Dr. Georgia Wellborn and piano with Dr. Terry McRoberts. Upon graduation, Erika received admission into the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society and received the Academic Excellence Award in Music Education.  In 2015, Erika received her M.M. in Vocal Performance from Austin Peay State University where she studied voice with Dr. Sharon Mabry and violin with Dr. Emily Crane.

       After graduating, Erika has continued to further her music education through workshops, certifications, and performance. Trained as a classical mezzo-soprano, Erika has experience in classical singing and opera while also having an interest in furthering her knowledge of additional vocal styles. With an interest in musical theater, Erika studied voice with Kevin Wilson, head of musical theater voice pedagogy at Boston Conservatory and participated in his musical theater teaching workshop.  In 2020 she completed the Boston Conservatory Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop and in 2022 the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute's musical theater course through Shenandoah Conservatory.

       Erika has continued to further her performance experience in both classical and musical theater styles. In 2021, Erika participated in Orvieto Musica's "Art of Song Festival" in Orvieto, Italy, gaining experience in singing solo art song and chamber vocal music. In Clarksville, Erika regularly performs with the Gateway Chamber Chorale and enjoys performing or assisting vocally with musicals in the community.  In 2023, she sang with Nashville Opera in "Pirates of Penzance" as part of the opera ensemble. Erika is a member of professional organizations including the National Association of Teacher's of Singing (NATS), and the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC).
